한국형 기업가정신 가치체계 개발 - 유교사상과 남명 조식의 경의사상을 중심으로

A Development of Korean Entrepreneurship Value System based on Confucianism and Nammyeong’s Principle

최근 경영 실무진과 연구자들 사이에서 사람중심의 리더십과 기업가정신, 사람중심 기업문화 등이가장 중요한 화두 중 하나이다. 지금까지 우리에게 잘 알려진 기업가정신에 대한 개념은 서구 자본주의 확산과 함께 정립된 개념이 대부분이다. 초기에 정립된 기업가정신의 개념 속에 내포된 키워드를살펴보면 혁신, 모험, 위험, 도전, 사업기회 포착, 창조와 파괴 등 다소 강하게 느껴진다. 그러나우리나라 삼성, LG, 효성 그룹 창업주들의 기업가정신 속에는 이러한 요소들 외에도 합리, 인화, 인본, 정도, 인재양성, 의로운 이윤추구, 국리민복, 사업보국, 실천 등 유교적·성리학적 사상들이내포되어 있다. 이들 세 창업주 모두가 공통적으로 지향하는 경영철학은 인본주의이며, 이는 남명조식 선생의 인본주의적인 실천정신과 맞닿아 있다. 본 연구에서는 우리 고유의 유교사상과 남명사상의 본질을 더 심도 있게 분석한다. 더불어 서양의 기업가정신의 가치체계를 형성하는 여러 가지이론들을 토대로 한국형 기업가정신의 모델을 제안하고, 그 가치체계를 정립하고자 한다. 한국형기업가정신 가치체계 개발은 K-기업가정신의 이론 정립과 경영 실무에 유용한 시사점을 제공할것이다.

Recently, people-oriented leadership, entrepreneurship, and corporate culture are the most important topics among management practitioners and researchers. The concepts of entrepreneurship imply such as innovation, adventure, risk taking, challenge, pursuing business opportunity, and creative destruction. The concepts were established with the spread of capitalism in the West. When we look at the keywords implied in the concept of entrepreneurship that was established in the early days, it seems somewhat radical and inhumane. However, the entrepreneurship and philosophy of the founders of Samsung, LG, and Hyosung Group in Korea contains Confucian and Neo-Confucian ideas such as human-oriented, rationality, harmony, righteousness, talent cultivation, righteous pursuit of profit, public welfare, business for national welfare, and practice. The management philosophy shared by all the three founders is humanism. It is in line with Nammyeong's humanistic spirit of practice. In this study, we investigate the essence of our own Confucianism and Nammyeong’s principle in more depth, and develop a model of Korean entrepreneurship based on various theories that form the value system of Western entrepreneurship. Finally, we propose a K-entrepreneurship value system from the Confucianism and Nammyeong’s principle as well as traditional entrepreneurship concepts. This study provides useful theoretical and managerial implications.
