‘성공적 노화’에 대한 기대 가치 연구: X 세대의 특성 요인을 중심으로

A Study on the Expected Value of Successful Aging: Based on the characteristics of Generation X

본 연구에서는 향후 10년 이내에 노인세대로 편입될 X세대(45-55세 연령대)의 성공적 노화에 대한 기대가치에 영향을 미치는 요인들(개인주의, 자존감 및 자기효능감, 여가 만족도와 여가몰입도 등)의 효과를 검증해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 45-55세 연령대의 200명을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하고 다중회귀분석과 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, X세대의 개인주의 성향은 성공적 노화에 대한 기대가치에 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 X세대의 집단주의 성향은 성공적 노화에 대한 기대가치에 정적 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 둘째, X세대에게 가장 효과적인 성공적 노화의 기대가치 요인은 자존감 및 자기효능감과 여가몰입 요인으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성공적 노화의 유용한 전략으로 알려진 SOC전략의 사용수준은 X세대의 성공적 노화 인식에는 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, X세대의 성공적 노화의 기대가치를 높이는 요인들로 나타난 집단주의, 자존감 및 자기효능감, 여가몰입도는 SOC전략을 통해서는 매개되지 않으며 직접 영향을 미치는 요인인 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 노인세대의 특성이 현재의 노인들과는 확연히 달라지는 5∼10년 후 노년 세대인 X세대를 위한 새로운 성공적 노화 전략이 마련되어야 한다는 것을 시사한다.

This study attempted to verify the effects of factors that influence the expectations of successful aging of Generation X(ages 45-55) who will be incorporated into the elderly generation within the next 10 years. To this end, a nationwide survey was conducted on 200 people in the 45-55 age group. The collected response data were analyzed through multiple and hierarchical regression analyses. The analysis results were as follows. First, it was found that Generation X's individualistic tendencies negatively affected the expected value of successful aging. On the other hand, Generation X's collectivist tendencies were a factor that positively influenced the expected value of successful aging. Second, the expected value factors of successful aging, which are most effective for Generation X, were found to be self-esteem, self-efficacy, and leisure commitment factors. Third, it was found that the level of use of the SOC strategy, known as a useful strategy for successful aging, harmed Generation X's perception of successful aging. Fourth, collectivism, self-esteem, self-efficacy, and leisure commitment, which appeared as factors that increase the expected value of successful aging of Generation X, were not mediated through SOC strategies but were found to have a direct effect. This result implies that it is necessary to establish a new successful aging strategy for Generation X.
