This study applies a specialized classification system to analyze the economic ripple effects of the agri-food industry. Under the Korean Standard Industrial Classification (KSIC), the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishing sector (KSIC A) accounts for only 1.4% of the total industry. However, when using the specialized agri-food classification system, the agri-food industry represents approximately 9.5% of the total industry, highlighting its significance. Notably, the food and beverage service (ALF06) and the agri-food and related manufacturing(ALF03) exhibit strong forward and backward linkage effects, as well as the highest production and value-added inducement effects, positioning them as key economic drivers of the agri-food(ALF). By applying the specialized agri-food classification system, this study overcomes the limitations of the KSIC framework and identifies the agri-food industry as a high-value-added sector with a complex industrial structure. Additionally, the analysis categorizes the agri-food industry into eight major classifications, providing foundational data for developing tailored strategies for each sector.
