This study evaluates the management efficiency of Korean melon farms in Seongju and suggests strategies for improvement. Using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), the findings indicate an average Technical Efficiency (TE) of 0.79, Pure Technical Efficiency (PTE) of 0.93, and Scale Efficiency (SE) of 0.85, with inefficiencies primarily attributed to scale-related factors. To further differentiate and rank the 21 farms with a PTE of 1, a Super Efficiency DEA was applied, enabling more detailed analysis. Furthermore, Bootstrap Simultaneous Quantile Regression (SQR) analysis reveals that larger cultivation areas are associated with increased efficiency, whereas longer cropping periods tend to reduce efficiency. These findings provide a foundation for enhancing the competitiveness of Korean melon farms in Seongju and offer important implications for sustainable agricultural development.
