Objective: This study aims to analyze the flow and characteristics of media reports related to the child care support project through Big Kinds, a news big data analysis system, and to provide basic data for the child care support policies. Methods: To analyze media reports related to child care, the Big Kinds big data analysis system of the Korea Press Foundation (http://www.bigkinds.or.kr) was utilized. Results: The number of media reports by period showed a nonlinear increase, and keywords reflected social needs. The number and types of child care-related entities became more diversified over time. Conclusions: First, the trend of media reports related to child care reflected the government and society’s perception of the child care support project. Second, the results of a word cloud analysis showed that despite the government’s efforts with regard to the child care support project, the social demand for a safe and tight care system was still high. Third, the direction of child care policies can be predicted through a relationship analysis between major keywords related to child care.
