This study explored how the growing interest in healthy living, fueled by the COVID-19 pandemic, has made barefoot walking an appealing new option for modern individuals. It focuses on adults over 40 who actively walk barefoot, seeking to analyze its effects on psychological well-being and satisfaction with their appearance to assess overall satisfaction levels. Additionally, this paper attempted to lay a positive groundwork for barefoot walking, emphasizing its benefits for health, psychological well-being, and satisfaction with appearance. To accomplish this, a survey was conducted from April 1 to April 20, 2023, collecting responses from 325 adults over 40 in Seoul and the surrounding metropolitan area. The results indicate that participants perceive considerable physical and emotional benefits from barefoot walking. Furthermore, the findings reveal that those who perceive higher physical and emotional benefits from barefoot walking report greater psychological satisfaction afterward. There is a statistically significant positive correlation between psychological satisfaction and satisfaction with appearance, suggesting that individuals who feel more satisfied psychologically after walking barefoot also tend to be more satisfied with their appearance.
