Theses and Academic Journals in the Field of Hair Beauty and Nail Beauty Research Trend Analysis: Focusing on 2014 to 2023

This study aimed to provide foundational data necessary for predicting the development direction and future prospects of the beauty industry by examining recent trends in hair beauty and nail beauty research from 2014 to 2023. To analyze these research trends, a total of 1,660 papers and 1,085 journals were collected, including master's theses, doctoral dissertations, KCI candidate journals, and KCI-listed journals, all gathered through searches of hair and nail beauty-related topics from 2014 to 2023. The results found the following: Both papers and journals in the hair beauty field were published more frequently than in the nail beauty field. Keyword analysis revealed that in hair beauty, the term “cut” appeared most often in both papers and KCI-listed journals, while in nail beauty, “art” was the most common term. This suggests that the greater the potential for growth in the beauty industry, the more research is published. In hair beauty, “cut”-related topics seem to be the primary focus of researchers, while in nail beauty, “art” is the key area of interest.
