The Impact of Career Barriers on Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy among Career-Interrupted Women

This study aimed to examine the impact of career barriers on the career decision-making self-efficacy of women with career interruptions and to provide foundational data that supports their successful reentry into the labor market. To achieve this, a questionnaire survey was conducted from October 11 to October 26, 2024, targeting women aged 20-59 nationwide who are currently married and have paused their economic activities due to pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, or caregiving responsibilities, or who have never participated in the workforce. A total of 318 responses were used in the final analysis, which revealed that career barriers significantly affect career decision-making self-efficacy. These findings suggest a need for support programs that enhance problem-solving skills for women with career interruptions and the development of psychological counseling and career coaching programs tailored to their personality traits.
