The Effect of Disability Rights Education Utilizing Universal Design Principles on Young Children’s Disability Rights Sensitivity and Disability Acceptance Attitudes

연구목적: 유니버설디자인의 원리를 활용한 장애인권교육이 유아의 장애인권감수성과 장애수용태도에 미치는 효과를 알아보는 데에 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 총 24명의 유아를 대상으로 7주 동안 14회의 장애인권교육이 진행되었고, 사전 및 사후 검사를 통해 유아의 장애인권감수성과 장애수용태도의 변화를 분석하기 위해 대응표본 t-검정을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 유니버설디자인 원리를 활용한 장애인권교육이 유아의 장애인권감수성과 장애수용태도에 긍정적인 효과를 주었다. 논의 및 결론: 유니버설디자인 원리를 활용한 장애인권교육을 통해 유아들은 모든 사람이 다양한 능력을 가지고 동등한 인권을 지닌다는 점을 인식하게 된다. 이는 유아들이 장애인에 대한 이해와 포용성을 증진시키며, 유아 대상 장애인권교육의 지속적인 필요성을 뒷받침하는 근거가 된다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of disability rights education, utilizing the principles of universal design, on young children's sensitivity to disability rights and their attitudes toward disability acceptance. Method: A total of 14 disability rights education sessions were conducted over 7 weeks for 24 young children. The changes in the young children's sensitivity to disability rights and their attitudes toward disability acceptance were analyzed using paired sample t-tests through pre- and post-tests. Results: The disability rights education utilizing universal design principles had a positive effect on young children's sensitivity to disability rights and their attitudes toward disability acceptance. Conclusion: Through disability rights education that utilizes the principles of universal design, young children recognize that all people have equal rights regardless of their varying abilities. This enhances young children's understanding and acceptance of individuals with disabilities, serving as evidence for the continued necessity of disability rights education for young children.
