China-Korea Film and Television Cultural Convergence and Its Impact Driven by Digital Economy

Purpose – The purpose of the study is to explore the convergence of Chinese and Korean film and television cultures driven by the digital economy. It investigates how digital technology transforms production, distribution, and audience interaction, fostering deeper cultural exchange and collaboration. The study highlights the impact of digital tools on lowering production costs, enhancing global accessibility, and encouraging cross-border creative feedback, ultimately promoting cultural integration and global competitiveness for both industries. Design/Methodology/Approach – The research employs a multi-faceted analysis of cultural integration, focusing on content creation, technological exchange, and audience interaction. It leverages case studies of co-produced works, and evaluates the role of digital platforms in promoting cross-border cultural dissemination. Findings – The integration of digital technologies has significantly influenced the Sino-Korean film and television industries. Digital platforms lower production costs, enhance audience reach, and foster interactive feedback mechanisms. Co-productions and shared technical expertise have elevated both nations' competitiveness in global markets. Furthermore, cultural narratives have evolved through mutual influences, offering a blend of thematic and stylistic elements. Research Implications – The study highlights the potential of digital technologies in reshaping cultural industries. It provides insights into leveraging digital tools for enhanced cultural exchange and production efficiency.
