일본의 한 내과 의사의 가치관 형성과 사회적 역할에 대한 생애사적 연구

A Life History Study on the Formation of Value and Social Role of a Japanese Physician

연구목적: 본 연구에서는 4대째 의사집안에서 의업을 계승하여 인간적이면서 통합적인 의술을 펼치면서 지역에서 진정한 의사의 역할을 수행하기 위해 노력하는 일본의 한 내과의사의 삶을 통하여, 그가 걸어왔던 의사의 길과 그가 추구하는 의료의 비전을 살펴보았다. 연구방법: 인간의 생애를 효과적으로 이해할 수 있는 생애사 연구방법을 활용하고, 4회에 걸쳐 마쯔다 원장과 심층면담으로 자료를 수집하였고, 의사로서의 인생의 전환점과 성숙과정을 연대기순으로 분석하였다. 연구결과: 마쯔다 원장의 생애를 ‘유년시절’, ‘의대진학 및 전문의로의 성장’, ‘의과대학졸업 이후의 삶’으로 나누어 살펴보고, ‘지역의료에 헌신하는 모습’과 ‘건강 창조에 대한 비전’을 중심으로 기술하였다. 논의 및 결론: 한 일본 내과 의사 생애에서 나타나는 의사로서의 사명, 역할, 비전과 실천의 주요 특징들을 바탕으로 의학교육 개선을 위한 방향성을 제언하였다.

Purpose: This study examines the life of a Japanese physician who has inherited the medical profession for four generations, striving to practice humane and integrative medicine in the local community. Method: Life-history method was employed. Data were collected through four in-depth interviews and analyzed in chronological order. Results: The Data were examined in three stages: ‘Childhood,’ ‘Admission to Medical School and Growth as a Specialist,’ and ‘Life After Medical School.’ The analysis focused on two key aspects: ‘Dedication to Community Healthcare’ and ‘Vision for Creating Health.’ Conclusion: Based on the key characteristics of this Japanese internist’s life, this study suggests directions for improving medical education and fostering a more comprehensive approach to healthcare.
