An Analysis of the Historical Origin and Development of Space Power: Focusing on the Utilization and Competition of Defense Space Power

이 논문의 주요 목적은 냉전 시기 미소 간 군비경쟁의 일환으로 전개됐던 우주기술경쟁의 역사적 기원과 우주력에 대한 인식 변화, 전장의 승패를 좌우할 수 있는 우주의 군사적 활용에 대해 고찰해 봄에 있다. 현재 전 세계는 제2의 우주 시대로 불리는 거대한 신문명을 맞이했다. 냉전 시기 미소의 군비경쟁으로 본격적으로 시작된 우주경쟁과 개발은 점차로 신화와 관측의 영역에 이었던 우주력은 과학기술을 활용하는 영역으로 탈바꿈하였다. 탈냉전 시기 전쟁의 양상은 정보통신 무기체계가 복합체계를 구성하여 네트워크화된 전장 환경으로 변화되면서 우주 공간까지 포함하는 전장으로 진화되었다. 미래전에서 우주력은 전장의 승패를 결정할 수 있는 매우 중요한 요소가 되었음을 알 수 있다. 이를 기반으로 본고에서는 탈냉전 시기 미국과 중국 등 주요 군사선진국들의 우주 전략의 변화와 21세기 4차 산업혁명 기술과 결합된 국가안보의 핵심 요소로서의 우주영역인식(SDA)에 영향을 주는 국방 우주력 활용과 발전 방안에 대해 제시하였다.

The main aim of article is to explore the historical origins of the space technology race, part of the Cold War military competition, and the evolving perception and military utilization of space power, which can influence the success or failure on the battlefield. The space race and development, significantly driven by the military competition between the US and the former Soviet Union during the Cold War, have gradually transformed space from a realm of myth and observation into one of applied science and technology. Thus, it is to present an analysis of the shifts in space strategy among major military powers, such as the US and China, in the post-Cold War era, and proposes strategies for the utilization and development of Defense Space Power as a key element of national security, particularly in relation to the Space Domain Awareness(SDA) influenced by the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
