Retired active senior have leisure time, purchasing power, and are much interested in health and self-development, making them a large consumer market for rural healing tourism. This study aims to classify retired active seniors and to identify their healing needs. To this end, an online survey was conducted targeting 1,000 retired active seniors residing nationwide. The cluster analysis results showed that the types of active retirees were physical health and vitality needs, psychological and emotional value needs, high overall healing needs, and low overall healing needs. The results of analyzing the differences in characteristics by group according to healing needs showed that the low overall healing needs type had a relatively low income level. The rural healing tourism experience was highest in the high overall healing needs type, followed by the psychological and emotional value needs type and the physical health and vitality needs type.
