<레스토랑 Sal>에 나타난 소수 문학적 특성과 그 문학교육적 의의

The Characteristics of Minor Literature in <Restaurant Sal> and Its Literary Educational Implications

목적: 이 연구는 그림책 <레스토랑 Sal>의 소수 문학적 특성과 의미를 탐구하고, 그 문학교육적 의의를 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법: 들뢰즈와 가타리가 제시한 소수 문학의 세 가지 자질인 ‘언어의 탈영토성’, ‘개인과 정치의 연관성’, ‘언표행위의 집단적 배치’를 바탕으로 그림책 <레스토랑 Sal>의 특성과 소수 문학적 자질이 구현된 방식을 분석하고, 이를 통해 해당 그림책의 문학교육적 의의를 논의하였다. 결과: <레스토랑 Sal>은 ‘작가의 소수적 정체성’, ‘탈영토화된 언어로서 그로테스크 이미지의 사용’, ‘다수적 목소리와 소수적 침묵의 대비’라는 소수 문학적 특성을 지니며, 다수적 권력을 비판하고 주류적 관습을 해체하는 소수 문학으로 해석될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 <레스토랑 Sal>이 ‘비판적 사고와 윤리적 성찰의 촉진’, ‘다층적 해석 능력의 신장’, ‘가치 교육 및 윤리적 실천의 계기’, ‘연령을 초월한 문학적 경험의 제공’의 측면에서 문학교육적 가치와 활용 가능성을 지님을 제시하였다. 결론: 소수적인 그림책은 주류적 사고와 관습적 서사를 넘어 비판적 사고와 윤리적 성찰을 촉진하는 강력한 매체이며, 해석 교육과 가치 교육 차원에서 연령을 초월하여 활용될 수 있는 교육적 도구이다.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the characteristics and significance of <Restaurant Sal> as a work of minor literature and to examine its literary educational implications. Methods: Based on the three attributes of minor literature proposed by Deleuze and Guattari-“deterritorialization of language,” “connection between the individual and the political,” and “collective arrangement of enunciation”-this study analyzes the characteristics of <Restaurant Sal> and the ways in which its minor literary qualities are realized. Furthermore, the study discusses its literary educational implications. Results: <Restaurant Sal> exhibits the characteristics of minor literature, including “the author’s minor identity,” “the use of grotesque imagery as deterritorialized language,” and “the contrast between dominant voices and minor silence.” It can be interpreted as a work of minor literature that critiques dominant power structures and deconstructs mainstream conventions. Based on this analysis, <Restaurant Sal> is considered to hold literary educational value and potential for application in terms of “the promotion of critical thinking and ethical reflection,” “the enhancement of multilayered interpretive skills,” “a catalyst for value education and ethical practice,” and “the provision of a literary experience that transcends age.” Conclusion: This study suggests that minor picture books serve as powerful media for fostering critical thinking and ethical reflection beyond mainstream thought and conventional narratives. They can function as educational tools applicable across different age groups, particularly in the contexts of interpretive and value-based education.
