The Benefits of Social Networking Sites Adoption in Small and Medium Enterprises: A Critical Review of Literature

Purpose - The undeniable contribution of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the development of socio-economic has been very encouraging all over the world. With the use of social networking sites, SMEs are experiencing incredible success in today's technological landscape. The primary aim of this paper is to review the factors influencing SMEs performance with the adoption of Social Networking Sites (SNSs) regardless of any country. Design/methodology/approach - To achieve this objective, the defined theoretical information is accumulated from the publication of many respectable articles as well as different renowned websites. Findings - As a result, this study explained not only the motivating factors but also the performance benefits of SNSs realized by these SMEs which can improve their overall performance. Research implications or Originality - The study remains beneficial to the practitioners, owners of SMEs, and extends the literature in SMEs as well as SNSs. In short, this study certainly boosts up our understanding about the factors of SNSs those affect the SMEs effectiveness.
