러시아 경제제재가 중앙아시아 5개국의 글로벌 가치사슬 참여에 미치는 영향: 패널데이터를 이용한 실증분석

Sanction against Russia and Central Asia’s participation on Global Value Chain: An Empirical Investigation

본 연구는 그동안 연구되지 않았던 크림반도 사태이후 러시아에 대한 경제제재가 중앙아시아 5개국의 글로벌 가치사슬참여에 미친 영향을 실증분석한다. 이를 위하여 2011년부터 2022년까지 중앙아시아 5개국의 중간재 수출 데이터와 이중차분법을 이용한다. 추정결과에 따르면 러시아에 대한 경제제재는 중앙아시아 5개국의 중간재 수출을 10~20%가량 감소시킨 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이러한 중간재 수출의 감소는 1차산업, 제조업, 서비스업 등에서 비교적 동일하게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 한 국가에 대한 경제제재가 제 3국의 글로벌 가치사슬 참여에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 의미한다.

This study empirically analyzes the effects of economic sanctions against Russia after Annexation of Crimea on the participation of five Central Asian countries in global value chains. To this endi, I use data on intermediate goods exports of five Central Asian countries from 2011 to 2022 and the difference-in-difference method. The estimation results show that economic sanctions against Russia reduced intermediate goods exports of the five Central Asian countries by 10-20%. The decline in intermediate goods exports was relatively uniform across primary, manufacturing, and service sectors. The results imply that sanction on one country affects other countries’ participation on global value chain.
