The themes and images of Emily Dickinson’s poetry are the eternal world and reality, god, death, the problem of immortality, the nature of the soul, love, passion, pain, family, and nature. This study statistically examined these themes using corpus analysis tool. The results of the study are as follows. In total frequency of personal pronouns, the use of first-person words accounts for more than half of these. The most frequently used verb is ‘like’, accounting for almost half of the total. The frequency of the meaning of death is significantly higher than that of life. In terms of expressing the absolute, the terms ‘heaven’ and ‘god’ are the most out of the six. Among the terms for color, the highest frequencies are ‘purple’ and ‘red’. The limitation of this study is not able to calculate the correlation among words. It is suggested that this limitation should be overcome through other technical tools with a wider range of words.
