Exploring the Experiences of Staffs in Lifelong Learning Institutions for Individuals with Disabilities

본 연구는 장애인 평생학습기관 실무자의 경험을 탐색하여 장애인 평생학습 의 현황과 지원 요구를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 참여자는 장애인 평생학습기관 에서 근무하는 실무자 10명으로 구성되었다. 실무자와의 반구조화된 개별 심층면담 후 전사된 면담 자료를 지속적 비교법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 4개의 대주 제와 12개의 하위주제가 도출되었으며 4개의 대주제는 다음과 같다: 1) 장애인의 평생 학습 참여 동기, 2) 장애인의 평생학습을 통한 긍정적 변화, 3) 장애인이 만족하는 평생학습의 특성, 4) 지속 가능한 평생학습을 위한 지원 요구. 본 연구는 장애인의 평생학습이 사회통합과 삶의 질 향상에 기여할 수 있도록 정책적·제도적 지원이 강화되어야 함을 강조하며, 향후 장애 유형별 맞춤형 프로그램 개발과 지속적인 연구 의 필요성을 제안한다.

This study aims to explore the experiences of staffs in lifelong learning institutions for individuals with disabilities and analyze the current state and support needs of lifelong learning for people with disabilities. The study participants consisted of 10 staffs working at lifelong learning institutions for individuals with disabilities. A semi-structured in-depth interview method was employed, and the transcribed interview data were analyzed using the constant comparative method. Four main themes and twelve sub-themes were identified, and the four main themes are as follows: (a) motivations for participation in lifelong learning, (b) positive changes through lifelong learning, (c) characteristics of satisfactory lifelong learning, and (d) support needs for sustainable lifelong learning. This study highlights the importance of strengthening policy and organizational supports to ensure that lifelong learning contributes to social inclusion and the improvement of quality of life for individuals with disabilities. It also suggests the need for the development of customized programs for people with different types of disabilities and further research in this field.
