The Mediating Effect of Self-esteem in the Relationship between Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers' Perception of Parenting Attitude for the Father

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 예비영유아교사의 아버지에 대한 양육태도 인식, 효의식, 자아존 중감의 관계와 아버지에 대한 양육태도 인식과 효의식 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개 효과를 분석하는 것이다. 연구방법: 연구대상은 서울 G구에 소재한 H대학에 연구자의 강의를 수강하는 1, 3, 4학년 124 명을 대상으로 설문 조사하였다. 측정도구는 아버지 양육태도 인식과 효의식, 자아 존중감 검사이고 SPSS 22.0으로 신뢰도, 기초통계분석, 상관관계, 그리고 다중회귀분 석을 실시하였다. Hayes의 PROCESS macro 4.2를 활용하여 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 예비영유아교사의 아버지에 대한 양육태도 인식, 자아존중감, 그리고 효의식 간의 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 예비영유아교사가 인식한 아버지에 대한 양육태도와 효의식 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과가 나타났다. 이러한 매개 효과는 간접효과로 부트스트랩 검증 결과 유의미한 효과였다. 연구결론: 예비영유아교사의 아버지에 대한 양육태도 인식은 자아존중감에 영향을 미치고 부모 역할에 대한 이해와 더불어 부모에 대한 효의식에 영향을 미친다. 이 과정에서 자아 존중감의 매개효과는 예비영유아교사를 양성하는 대학교육에서 아버지에 대한 긍정 적인 양육태도 인식과 바람직한 양육태도 형성을 통해 부모에 대한 효의식 증진과 더불어 자아존중감 향상을 위한 교육지원이 필요함을 시사한다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the mediating effect of self-esteem in the relationship between pre-service early childhood teachers' perception of parenting attitude for the father, sense of filial piety, and self-esteem, and the relationship between perception of parenting attitude for the father and sense of filial piety. Methods: The subjects of the study were 124 freshmen, junior, and senior students attending the researcher's lectures at H University located in G-gu, Seoul. The measurement tools were perception of parenting attitude for the father, sense of filial piety, and self-esteem test, and the reliability, basic statistical analysis, correlation, and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SPSS 22.0. This study verified the mediating effect using Hayes' PROCESS Macro 4.2. Results: First, there was a significant positive correlation between pre-service early childhood teachers' perception of parenting attitude for the father, self-esteem, and sense of filial piety. Second, there was a mediating effect of self-esteem in the relationship between pre-service early childhood teachers' perception of parenting attitude for the father and sense of filial piety. This mediating effect was an indirect effect and was significant as a result of bootstrap verification. Conclusion: The pre-service early childhood teachers' perception of parenting attitude for the father affected self-esteem, and it affects the sense of filial piety toward parents along with the understanding of parental roles. In this process, the mediating effect of self-esteem suggests that in university education that trains pre-service early childhood teachers, it is necessary to provide educational support to enhance self-esteem as well as to promote the sense of filial piety toward parents through the perception of positive parenting attitude for the father and the formation of desirable parenting attitudes.
