Substance use disorder (SUD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have a high rate of comorbidity. When treating pa- tients with this comorbidity, careful consideration of the risk of drug abuse is essential as medications used for ADHD can be potential- ly abused. This review examined the existing literature on the efficacy and abuse potential associated with psychostimulant treatment in individuals with comorbid SUD and ADHD and discussed how these findings could be applied in clinical practice in South Korea.
