Purpose - This study aims to explore the impact of executive environmental awareness and strategic wisdom on corporate development performance under the new dual-cycle development pattern, helping enterprises proactively assume green environmental responsibilities and achieve sustainable development. Design/Methodology/Approach - This study is based on survey data from heavily polluting enterprises in China, and it employs an empirical research approach. Using SPSS 26, it analyzes the impact of executive environmental awareness on green innovation strategies, examines the moderating role of strategic wisdom, and further explores its contribution to corporate development performance. Findings - First, executive environmental awareness positively influences the implementation of green innovation strategies, including green technological innovation and green design innovation. Second, strategic wisdom, categorized into metacognitive strategic wisdom and motivational strategic wisdom, plays an enhancing moderating role. Metacognitive strategic wisdom positively moderates the relationship between executive environmental awareness and both green technological and green design innovation, while motivational strategic wisdom also positively moderates these relationships. Finally, executive environmental awareness enhances corporate development performance and strengthens long-term competitiveness by promoting green innovation strategies. Research Implications - Under the new dual-cycle development pattern, green development has become a core issue for corporate growth. This study reveals the mechanism by which executive environmental awareness and strategic wisdom influence green product innovation strategies and corporate development performance, providing both theoretical support and practical guidance for enterprises to implement green development concepts and achieve sustainable development.
