China has been a major cruise market in the Asia-Pacific region, experiencing rapid growth before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the outbreak of COVID-19 led to stagnation in the China’s cruise market. In 2023, as China adjusted its pandemic control policies, the cruise industry began to gradually recover. To revitalize the market, the Chinese government introduced a series of supportive policies. These policy measures not only facilitated the recovery of the cruise industry but also contributed to laying the foundation for its high-quality development in the future. This study analyzes the development and policies of the China’s cruise industry after the COVID-19 pandemic. It examines the overall development status of the China’s cruise industry, relevant support policies, and the challenges it currently faces. Additionally, by analyzing China's case, the study explores implications for the development of the Korea’s cruise industry. Through this analysis, this study provides theoretical reference materials for the sustainable development of China's cruise industry and offers valuable insights for Korea’s cruise industry in terms of policy formulation and market strategy development.
