This study used a structured survey to examine the general population’s perception of additional payable costs for 13 distinct services provided by community pharmacies that are not currently reimbursed by national health insurance and the factors that influence payment decisions. This cross-sectional survey, a 30-item questionnaire, inquired socioeconomic characteristics, experience using community pharmacy, satisfaction with provided services, and perception of additional payable costs for 13 distinct services including traditional dispensing services and enhanced services. The collected data was presented as descriptive statistics, and logistic regression was conducted to identify factors influencing willingness to pay. Results showed that 50% of respondents (n=1,209) were willing to pay an additional 10% or more of the reference cost for traditional dispensing services and advanced services provided in community pharmacies. Logistic regression analysis showed that respondents with high satisfaction with pharmacy services, male, younger group, and those with higher educational levels were generally more receptive to paying additional fees for pharmacy services, although factors showing statistical significance differed somewhat for each service. The value of services that enhance community health, particularly through a more professional and thorough approach, has increased beyond standard prescription assistance services.
