전세계적으로 선진국부터 개발도상국까지 국가별로 위성을 개발 및 발사하는 트렌드가 조성되고 있다. 해양분야에서는 해양주권수호와 해양환경보호가 주된 목적으로 위성개발이 이루어진다. 이러한 트렌드에 맞추어 이 발표에서는 위성영상과 AIS정보를 융합하여 넓은 영역의 해양 및 선박을 모니터링하는 기술을 소개한다. 또한 위성기술의 발달과 함께 향후 기대되는 VTS역할에 위성이 기여하는 방향을 제시한다.

A global trend has emerged in which countries, from developed to developing nations, are actively engaging in satellite development and deployment. In the maritime sector, satellite development is primarily driven by the objectives of safeguarding maritime sovereignty and protecting the marine environment. In alignment with this trend, this presentation introduces a technology that integrates satellite imagery with AIS data to enhance large-scale maritime and vessel monitoring. Furthermore, it explores the potential contributions of satellites to the evolving role of Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) in light of advancements in satellite technology.
