A Study on the Revitalization of Island Tourism Centered on Marine Healing Tourism Content

The purpose of this study is to propose a plan for utilizing marine healing tourism content as a key strategy to revitalize island tourism, which has recently gained attention. Based on the results of the Focus Group Interview(FGI) analysis, this study emphasizes the necessity of designing island tourism programs centered on healing tourism content from the planning stage. It highlights the importance of considering various factors, such as the objectives, motivations, and prior conditions of local governments and stakeholders involved in promoting island tourism through marine healing tourism content. Furthermore, it suggests the need to encourage the success of island tourism revitalization projects by providing customized education and management consulting that takes these factors into account. Considering these aspects, this study explores sustainable revitalization strategies for the island tourism industry through marine healing tourism content and proposes key measures such as securing specialized medical personnel, listing treatments under health insurance coverage, establishing accommodations within rehabilitation clinic facilities, and expanding the target audience for marine healing centers.
