Artificial sense technology is revolutionizing the integration of digital and physical environments by emulating human sensory functions. To advance real-world deployment, it is crucial to establish scalable production methods that enable the fabrication of highly responsive nanomaterials and their seamless incorporation into extensive sensory networks. A refined comprehension of material synthesis, structural organization, and device engineering is vital for enhancing functional efficiency. This review presents a strategic outlook on artificial sense technology, highlighting solution-based processing as a key approach for handling 0-Dimensional, 1-Dimensional, and 2-Dimensional nanomaterials. Unlike solid-phase techniques, solution-based processing facilitates uniform dispersion and precise material deposition, making it advantageous for large-scale manufacturing. Various assembly techniques, including evaporation-driven methods for controlled arrangement, externally assisted approaches for enhanced structural precision, and direct patterning techniques for customized device fabrication, play essential roles in constructing sensory systems that replicate olfactory, gustatory, and tactile responses. Despite progress, significant challenges remain, such as improving environmental stability, ensuring uniform device performance, and integrating artificial intelligence for advanced signal processing and data interpretation. Overcoming these obstacles will pave the way for broader implementation in fields including healthcare, robotics, and intelligent system development.
