이 연구의 목표는 디지털 시대에 대한 메타적 성찰을 중심으로 하여 디지털 시민성 함양을 위한 국어교육의 방향성을 탐구하고 구체적인 수업 실행 사례를 통해 그 가능성을 탐색하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 디지털 시민성의 개념을 이론적으로 탐색하고, 국어 교과에서 디지털 시민성 교육의 현황을 검토한 후, 디지털 시대에 대한 메타적 성찰의 필요성을 제기하였다. 다음으로 디지털 시대에 대한 메타적 성찰 능력 함양을 위한 수업을 설계하여 실행하고, 시사점 및 한계를 도출하였다. 수업 사례에서 학습자는 질문 생성을 통해 주체로서의 자신을 인식하고 문제 인식을 자기화하였다. 또한 문제 해결의 주체로서 탐구 전략을 획득하고 메타적 인지를 활용하였으며, 미해결의 문제에 대한 유보적 태도 및 해결 의지를 드러내었다. 한편 일부 학습자들은 이미 구성된 답에 의존하는 경향을 보이기도 하였고, 인공지능을 부적절하게 활용하여 정보의 수집자에 그치는 한계를 보이기도 하였다. 디지털 시민성 함양을 위해서는 디지털 시대의 변화에 대한 메타적 성찰 능력의 함양이 필요하며, 이를 위한 교육적 전략의 구안이 요청된다.
This study aimed to explore the direction of Korean language education in cultivating digital citizenship, particularly on fostering meta-level reflections on the digital age. To this end, the study first examined the theoretical foundations of digital citizenship and the current state of digital citizenship education in the Korean language curriculum. This yielded a theoretical framework that underscores the importance of cultivating learners’ capacities for meta-reflection in response to the complexities of the digital era. Based on this framework, I designed and implemented a lesson aimed at developing meta-reflective thinking. The findings revealed that learners recognized themselves as active agents by generating questions, internalizing problem awareness, acquiring inquiry strategies, and applying metacognitive skills. They also exhibited a reflective stance and a willingness to address unresolved issues. However, some learners tended to rely on pre-constructed answers or use artificial intelligence inappropriately, thereby limiting their role as information gatherers. These results suggest that fostering digital citizenship requires the development of learners’ meta-reflective capabilities concerning the transformations of the digital age and the implementation of educational strategies that support this goal.
