Modern travelers can easily search for destinations online, yet the abundance of information and constraints such as time and finances complicate travel planning. To address these challenges, we propose a personalized travel plan that integrates the attractiveness of the destination with the time constraints of the trip. First, when designing a personalized travel plan, travelers' travel styles are classified into two types: spontaneous and planned. Spontaneous travelers optimize their daily routes using TSP to maximize daily satisfaction, while planned travelers design their entire journey in advance using VRP. We employ both link variable-based VRP, which has been predominantly utilized in previous studies, and path variable-based VRP, which is more intuitive and easier to incorporate additional constraints. Furthermore, we develop and evaluate itineraries by assigning weight to destination attractiveness and travel time, thereby reflecting different preferences. Specifically, we consider travelers who prefer to travel more to visit more destinations and those who are less concerned about the number of destinations visited. To validate the practicality and applicability of the three models presented and to compare the results, a case study was conducted on 20 major travel destinations in Seoul, South Korea. The parameters used, including the attractiveness of the destinations and the travel and stay durations, were obtained from search engines and the travel platform TripAdvisor to follow the process of individual travelers planning their itineraries. The proposed framework offers a flexible decision support system for designing tailored travel itineraries under diverse constraints.
