K-POP 디지털 아카이브의 글로벌 활용을 위한 전략 연구 : KMDC(Korea Music Data Center)를 중심으로

A Strategic Study on the Global Utilization of K-Pop Digital Archives: Focusing on the Korea Music Data Center (KMDC)

본 연구는 KMDC의 글로벌 활용 가능성을 탐색하고, 이를 실현하기 위한 전략을 제안하는 데 목적이 있다. K-POP은 이미 전 세계적으로 영향력을 가진 문화 콘텐츠로 자리매김했으 며, 다양한 산업과 연계된 문화 플랫폼으로 확장되고 있다. 이에 따라 K-POP 관련 기록물 은 단순한 데이터 축적을 넘어 감정과 기억을 공유하는 문화적 플랫폼으로 진화할 필요가 있다. 이에 문헌 조사, 국내외 사례 분석, 기록물관리전문요원, 문화콘텐츠전문가, 국내외 K-POP 팬덤 대상 FGI를 통해 아카이브의 한계와 발전 방향을 다각도로 검토하였다. 그 결과, 문화 번역 중심의 글로벌 접근성 강화, Fandom Studio 운영, K-POP MAP 구축, K-POP 디지털 유산 보존소 마련, 감정 기반 참여형 플랫폼 전환 등 다섯 가지 전략을 도출하였다. 이는 기술적 개선을 넘어 팬 중심·문화 교류 중심의 아카이브 패러다임 전환을 지향한다. 따라서 본 연구는 KMDC가 글로벌 문화유산으로 발전할 수 있는 방향을 제시하고, 기록의 공공성과 사회적 역할에 대한 논의를 확장하였다.

This study aims to explore the global utilization potential of the Korea Music Data Center (KMDC) and propose strategies to realize this goal. K-pop has already established itself as globally influential cultural content and is expanding into a cultural platform interconnected with various industries. Accordingly, K-pop-related archival records must evolve beyond simple data accumulation into cultural platforms that share emotions and memories. To this end, a comprehensive review of literature was conducted, domestic and international cases were analyzed, and focus group interviews were held with records management professionals, cultural content experts, and domestic and international K-pop fandoms to examine the limitations and development directions of the archive from multiple perspectives. As a result, five strategic directions were identified: enhancing global accessibility through cultural translation, operating a Fandom Studio, constructing a K-pop map, establishing a K-pop digital heritage archive, and transforming the platform into an emotion-based participatory archive. These strategies are aimed at not only technical improvements but also a fundamental paradigm shift toward a fan-centered archive that facilitates cultural exchange. Therefore, this study presents a direction for the KMDC to evolve into a global cultural heritage platform and broadens the discourse on the public value and social role of archival records.
