핵심간호술기 멘토링 프로그램에 참여한 멘토와 멘티 경험의 현상학적 연구

A Phenomenological Study of Mentors’ and Mentees’ Experiences in a Core Nursing Skills Mentoring Program

본 연구의 목적은 핵심간호술기 멘토링 프로그램에 참여한 간호학생 4학년 멘토와 3학년 멘티의 경험과 그 의미를 심층적으로 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 ‘핵심간호술기 멘토링에 참여한 멘토-멘티의 경험은 어떠하며 그 의미는 무엇인가?’라는 연구문제를 바탕으로 Focus Group Interview(FGI)를 실시하였으며, Giorgi(2009)의 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 분석을 진행하였다. 연구결과, 4학년 멘토에서 도출된 구성요소는“멘티의 학습잠재력 지원”,“멘티의 성장과 성취를 위한 정서적 지지”,“멘토로서 개인적 역량과 지식의 동반성장”,“멘토 역할수행의 어려움”으로 나타났다. 멘티에서 도출된 구성요소는 “멘토와의 관계를 통한 상호작용”,“학습에 대한 주도적 태도”,“멘토의 지도를 통한 학습과 성장”, “프로그램 과정에 대한 어려움” 등으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 멘토링 프로그램이 간호학생들의 임상 실무에 필요한 기술과 지식습득 및 성장 과정에서 의미 있는 경험을 제공한다는 점이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 향후 간호교육 현장에서 보다 효과적인 멘토링 프로그램을 개발하고 적용하는 데 기초자료로 활용될 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to explore in depth the experiences and meanings of senior (fourth-year) nursing student mentors and junior (third-year) mentees who participated in a core nursing skills mentoring program. To achieve this, a focus group interview (FGI) was conducted based on the research question, “What are the experiences of mentors and mentees participating in core clinical skills mentoring, and what do these experiences mean?” The data was analyzed using Giorgi's (2009) phenomenological research method. The findings revealed that the key components derived from the mentors included: “supporting the mentee’s learning potential”, “providing emotional support for the mentee’s growth and achievement”, “co-development of personal competencies and knowledge as a mentor”, and “challenges in fulfilling the mentor role”. For the mentees, the identified components were: “interaction through the mentor-mentee relationship”, “a proactive attitude toward learning”, “learning and growth through mentor guidance”, and “difficulties in the program process”. This study confirms that the mentoring program provides nursing students with meaningful experiences in acquiring essential clinical skills and knowledge while fostering professional growth. These findings serve as foundational data for the future development and implementation of more effective mentoring programs in nursing education.
