Purpose: The profound penetration of artificial intelligence technology is triggering fundamental changes in higher education and the employment market. The core contradiction lies in the colonization of the essence of human nature by technical rationality. Research design, data, and methodology: Based on Marx’s theory of labor alienation, Heidegger’s philosophy of technological “Gestell”, and Foucault’s theory of disciplinary power, this study systematically analyzes the three mechanisms of the alienation of employability in the AI era. It reveals the dual paradox that the education system has fallen into, namely “the commodification of abilities” and “the dissolution of subjectivity”, and delves into how education can achieve the liberation of abilities through the “subjectivity reconstruction”. Results: This study puts forward the philosophical proposition of “anti-alienation ability” and advocates the establishment of a threefold path to liberation. At the level of the concept of abilities, it is necessary to distinguish between survival-oriented technical abilities and meta-abilities for resisting alienation. In terms of the educational paradigm, it is essential to drive the curriculum system towards a focus on technical critique, achieve a paradigmatic breakthrough in the teaching relationship, and innovate the evaluation system. At the level of institutional innovation, a public certification system for abilities should be established, and legislation should be enacted to safeguard individuals’ rights to counter algorithmic hegemony. Ultimately, through the practice of “technical poetics”, the essential subjectivity of human beings can be reconstructed in the midst of the surging tide of technology. Implications: This study breaks free from the shackles of technological determinism and instrumental rationality, reveals the new form of social inequality created by the discipline of AI technology through “ability standardization”, and provides a new philosophical pivot for resolving the ethical dilemmas of technology and reconstructing the essence of education.
