Research on the Competitiveness and Complementarity of the Trade of Mechanical and Electrical Products Between China and South Korea

The trade of mechanical and electrical products between China and South Korea plays an important role in the trade of goods between the two countries. The article analyzes the trade volume and commodity structure of China and South Korea through trade data from 2012 to 2022. Through the study of the trade competitiveness index and trade complementarity index, it is found that the trade volume between China and South Korea continues to increase, and the balance of trade continues to shrink; The product structure is relatively concentrated and lacks diversification; The competitiveness of Chinese mechanical and electrical products is constantly increasing, and there are differences in the competitive advantages of mechanical and electrical products between China and South Korea. The article puts forward the suggestions of optimizing market structure, avoiding trade barriers, cultivating brand awareness, strengthening cooperation and exchange, and cultivating and introducing talents, which will help to promote the better development of the trade of mechanical and electrical products between China and South Korea and achieve win-win cooperation.
