コロナ禍以降の日本地域社会に見られる文學 - 愛媛県松山市での俳句創作活動を中心に

Literature in Japanese Local Communities after the COVID-19 Pandemic : Focussing on the Activities of Haiku Creation in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture

In this paper, I present my field survey in Matsuyama, Ehime, to explore how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted local communities and how these effects have been reflected in literature. The city of Matsuyama is the hometown of Shiki Masaoka, who laid the foundation of modern haiku. The region is called ‘Matsuyama, the capital of Haiku’ because many people are engaged in haiku creation, In Matsuyama, ‘haku post boxes’ are set throughout the city, and anyone can easily create and submit haiku work. The haiku works submitted to the haiku post boxes are opened every three months, and approximately 30 selected works, including three specially selected ones, are exhibited. In this study, I classify the works selected from 2019 to 2023 into seven categories and analyzed the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on these haiku works. There was no significant difference in the number of keywords before and after the COVID-19 pandemic, but the examination of the haiku works reveals considerable differences in the emotions depicted in the haiku works, even when the authors use the same keywords. Also, since the present paper analyzes the haiku works created by amateurs, it clearly shows the direct influence of society on the works, and this is expected to broaden the scope of subsequent research on literature.

本論文は愛媛県松山市でのフィールド調査をもとに、コロナ禍が地域社会にどのような影響を与え、文學に反映されているのか考察したものである。松山市は近代俳句の礎を築いた正岡子規の故郷でもあり、「俳都·松山」と呼ばれているほど、俳句創作活動が活発な地域である。松山市では市内の至るところに「俳句ポスト」が設置され、誰もが気軽に俳句を創作し投函できる。「俳句ポスト」に投函された作品は3ヶ月に一度開函され、特選三句を含め約30句ほどの入選作品が展示される。 本研究では2019年から2023年まで「俳句ポスト」に投函され入選した作品を「温泉」「城」「正岡子規」「風景」「文化·行事」「俳句」「寺·遍路」の7つのカテゴリーに分類し、コロナ禍社会の中で作品がどのように影響を受けているのか分析した。キーワード数ではコロナ禍の以前と以降では大きな違いは見られなかったが、作品鑑賞を通して、同じキーワードを使用しているとしても、作品に描写された心情は大きな違いが見られることが明らかになった。また調査の対象として一般人による作品を用いることで、作品の中で社会が直接的に反映されたことが証明され、今後の文學研究の幅を広げることが期待できた。
