조현병, 양극성장애, 그리고 주요우울장애는 환자와 가족의 삶의 질에 지대한 영향을 미치며 약물치료, 정신치료 등의 치료만이 아니라 스트레스 조절, 규칙적인 일상생활 등 지속적인 관리가 필요한 심각한 정신질환이다. 이러한 중증정신질환에서 심리교육은 전통적으로 필수적으로 여겨져 왔으며 적절한 심리교육은 환자의 치료 참여도를 높이고 가족을 비롯한 보호자의 안녕에 긍정적인 영향을 준다고 알려져 왔다. 본 고찰에서는 최근의 체계적 고찰 연구들을 중심으로 하여 이들 각 질환들에 대한 심리교육의 효과에 대해서 알아보았다.
Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder have profound effects on the quality of life of patients and family members. Serious mental disorders require continuous managements such as daily life care, medication, and psychotherapy. Psychoeducation has traditionally been considered essential in these severe mental illnesses. It is known that proper psychoeducation can increase patient adherence to the treatment and positively affect the well-being of caregivers. In this review, effects of psychoeducation on these illnesses were investigated, focusing on recent systematic review studies.
