프랭크 로이드 라이트의 유기적 건축과 지속가능한 공간디자인의 연관성 연구 - 현대 건축 사례 중심으로

A Study on the Relationship between Organic Architecture and Sustainable Space Design by Frank Lloyd Wright : focusing on the of modern architecture

본 연구는 프랭크 로이드 라이트의 유기적 건축 철학이 현대의 지속 가능한 공간디자인과 어떤 연관성을 지니는지를 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 라이트는 자연과의 조화, 재료의 진정성, 공간의 연속성, 인간 중심의 감각적 설계 등을 바탕으로 공간을 유기적으로 구성해 왔으며, 이러한 철학은 오늘날의 지속 가능 설계 원칙과 깊게 맞닿아 있다. 본 연구는 라이트의 건축 작품을 분석하여 반복적으로 나타나는 설계 개념을 여섯 가지 특성으로 정리하고, 이를 지속가능한 디자인의 설계 전략과 연결하여 해석하였다. 이후 라이트의 특성이 현대 건축에서 어떻게 반영되는지를 비교 분석한 결과, 유기적 건축은 시대를 넘어 오늘날의 공간디자인에서도 여전히 유효한 설계 원칙으로 작용하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Frank Lloyd Wright's organic architectural philosophy and modern sustainable space design. Wright has organically constructed space based on harmony with nature, the authenticity of materials, the continuity of space, and human-centered sensory design, and this philosophy is deeply in line with today's sustainable design principles. This study analyzed Wright's architectural works, organized repetitive design concepts into six characteristics, and interpreted them in connection with sustainable design strategies. As a result of comparing and analyzing how Wright's characteristics are reflected in modern architecture, it was confirmed that organic architecture is still acting as a valid design principle in today's spatial design beyond the times.
