Objectives: To investigate factors affecting unmet dental care needs among Koreans aged over 20 years, with a focus on income. Methods: Data for this cross-sectional study was obtained from the 9th(2023) Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, a nationwide survey conducted by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. Results: The final analysis included 3,713 participants who took part in the health examination survey and oral check-ups. Statistical analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS ver. 21.0, specifically accounting for a complex sampling design. A chi-square test was used to verify any differences in the distribution of independent variables associated with unmet dental care needs. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to determine the factors influencing unmet dental care needs. These included age group, household income level, education level, perceived health level, health checkup level, perceived oral health level, toothache within a year level, chewing difficulty level, speaking difficulty level, oral examination within a year level, dental care utilization level, medical insurance level, private health insurance level, and employment status, such as worker level and average working hours per week. Conclusions: The findings of the study suggest that the causes of unmet dental care needs are multifactorial
