Rapid urbanization, a rise in single-person households, and parenting burdens have contributed to declining birth rates and marriage, emerging as major social challenges-especially among youth. This study examines how young people’s housing conditions influence their perception of social inequality, drawing on the theory of inclusive cities. Using data from the 2022 Youth Life Survey(n=14,918), 11 housing-related variables across four inclusiveness domains-spatial, economic, social, and policy-were analyzed. Employing descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, multiple regression, and ordinal logistic regression, the study found that 7 out of 11 housing variables significantly affect youth perceptions of inequality. Notably, variables related to policy inclusiveness had a strong impact, revealing a clear gap between satisfaction and perception. These results highlight that the quality of policy experience and its perceived effectiveness are key to shaping social awareness among young people. The findings offer empirical evidence that youth housing experiences are closely tied to broader social perceptions, underscoring the importance of tailored housing policy and inclusive urban planning. This study empirically proves that the housing experience of young people can influence the formation of social awareness, thereby providing specific grounds for the design of inclusive cities experienced by young people, such as the design of communities in youth housing complexes.
