This study aims to develop a pedagogical approach to enhance inter-sentence cohesion in translation. Building on Lee (2020), students were instructed to translate sentences by changing subjects, with additional guidance on cohesion, including cohesive devices, Theme/Rheme structures, and the Given/New information flow. The study examined whether students consciously applied cohesion strategies through subject choices and assessed the effectiveness of the revised method. The results reveal increased use of grammatical metaphors, strategic theme selection, and agent omission to improve textual progression. Students reported that the method helped diversify sentence structures and strengthen links with preceding sentences. Although limited by a small sample size and the lack of a control group, the study employed triangulation through translation analysis, student commentary, and a survey. The findings suggest that subject-shifting translation exercises, when combined with explicit cohesion instruction, can serve as an effective means of promoting text-level awareness in translator training.
