Research Review on Overseas Studies of China’s Comprehensive Deepening Reforms: Focusing on the Theme of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee

In recent years, the historic accomplishments stemming from China’s comprehensive deepening reforms have garnered significant attention among international observers. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has elevated global discourse on these reforms to unprecedented levels, generating substantial scholarly resonance. Systematic review reveals that international scholarship on China’s reform trajectory exhibits two defining characteristics: diversified participants (encompassing think tanks, academic institutions, and policy analysts) and multidimensional thematic focus. Research scope extends beyond sector-specific innovations—including economic institutional restructuring, political system advancement, social welfare mechanisms, and ecological civilization initiatives—to encompass macro-level examinations of strategic significance and global implications. By synthesizing representative international scholarship on China’s reform efforts, this study provides an external perspective to examine major breakthroughs, strategic value, and assessments of China’s development prospects. Such an analysis offers a comprehensive understanding of global perceptions and evaluations of China’s reform policies, yielding valuable insights for academic and policy research.
