How Chinese Web Novels Can Move Away from Fast Food Writing: An Empirical Study Based on Doupo Cangqiong

In this study, we employed Python to scrape reader review data from the representative Chinese web novel Doupo Cangqiong (Fights Break Sphere) and utilized LDA topic, structural equation, and random forest modeling techniques to empirically test the relationship between readers’ emotional tendencies and various influencing factors. The findings reveal that the elements of “plot setting”, “character development”, “battle scenes”, and “narrative pacing” significantly and positively influence readers’ emotional inclinations, thus providing a reference for Chinese web novels to move away from “fast food” writing practices. Furthermore, the study results revealed that “ending arrangement”, “growth trajectory”, “visual depiction”, and “description detail” have the highest impacts on readers’ emotional tendencies, suggesting that web novel creators should focus on refining these aspects; conversely, factors such as “word length” and “conflict setting” do not have significant effects on readers’ emotional inclinations; Accordingly, this article puts forward a Government-Platform-Author- Reader (4DPS) recommendation framework that advocates, inter alia, tighter online oversight, more flexible talent‑recruitment policies, a renewed emphasis on responsible authorship, and the cultivation of rational reader feedback. Collectively, these measures seek to steer Chinese web fiction away from “fast food” production models and toward fuller integration within the Chinese literary value system, thereby offering substantive practical value.

本文运用Python 爬取起点中文网书评活跃度榜第一名、书友月推荐榜第一名，累计点击量破100亿《斗破苍穹》读者评价数据，采用LDA 主题模型、结构方程模型以及随机森林模型实证检验网络小说读者情感倾向与各影响因素关系。研究结果发现，《斗破苍穹》在“剧情设定”“人物塑造”“战斗场景”“叙事节奏”上显著正向影响读者情感倾向，为中国网络小说脱离“快餐化”创作提供路径参考。在此基础上，“结局安排”“成长轨迹”“视觉刻画”以及“描述详略”对读者情感倾向影响程度最高，网络小说创作者应着眼上述内容重点打磨，而“文字长度”及“冲突设置”对读者情感倾向无显著影响。这一结论有助于推动中国网络小说脱离“快餐化”创作，为其融入中国文学价值体系提供建议举措。
