The rapid development of the internet has not only transformed the means and scope of information dissemination but has also profoundly influenced the lifestyles and ways of thinking of college students. In the virtual space provided by the internet that allows for free expression, college students in the new era exhibit a strong willingness to engage in online political participation and demonstrate a heightened sense of democracy. Meanwhile, platforms for online political engagement, represented by Weibo, have gradually taken shape, making online political participation an increasingly important way for college students to engage in political life and exercise their political rights in an orderly manner, reflecting distinct characteristics of the times. However, since the beginning of the new era, several pressing issues have emerged in the process of college students’ online political participation. Therefore, it is of great significance to educate and guide students to engage in online political participation in a scientific and orderly way.
