문화적 정체성 이론을 통한 포막족 결혼식 분석: 공동체 결속과 전통의 역할

An Analysis of Pomak Weddings through Cultural Identity Theory: The Role of Community Cohesion and Tradition

본 연구는 문화적 정체성 이론을 바탕으로 불가리아 포막족 공동체의 전통 결혼식을 분석하여, 이 결혼식이 공동체의 정체성 형성과 유지에 어떻게 기여하는지를 탐구하고자 한다. 문화적 정체성 이론을 주창한 주요 학자들의 분석 틀로 사용하여 포막족 결혼식이 공동체 내에서 문화적 정체성을 강화하고, 외부 사회적 압력 속에서도 전통을 유지하고 계승해가는 중요한 장치로 기능하고 있음을 살펴보았다. 결혼식 의례가 공동체 내 상호작용, 사회적 역할 부여, 문화적 자산 형성, 그리고 정체성 관리의 방식으로 어떻게 기능하는지를 분석하고, 포막족이 현대화와 사회적 변화 속에서 전통을 재구성하는 방식에 대해 심도 있게 논의한다. 또한 문화적 정체성 이론이 실천적 사례에 어떻게 적용되는지에 대한 이해를 돕고자 한다.

This study analyzes the traditional wedding practices of the Pomak community in Bulgaria through the lens of Cultural Identity Theory, exploring how these practices contribute to the formation and preservation of community identity. By applying analytical frameworks from leading scholars who have shaped Cultural Identity Theory, the study examines how the Pomak wedding functions as a crucial mechanism within the community, strengthening cultural identity and maintaining tradition even amidst external social pressures. The research analyzes how wedding rituals facilitate community interaction, assign social roles, establish cultural assets, and manage identity, offering an in-depth discussion on how the Pomak community reconstructs its traditions in the context of modernization and social change. Furthermore, this study aims to deepen understanding of the practical application of Cultural Identity Theory in real-world contexts.
