교육실습에 대한 중등 예비 영어교사 인식: 역량 교육 및 생성형 AI 활용을 중심으로

This study examines pre-service secondary English teachers’ perceptions of their teaching practicum, exploring opportunities to understand and practice competency-based education and factors related to generative AI utilization. Its aims are to identify whether current teacher training programs adequately prepare pre-service teachers for contemporary educational challenges and to derive implications for future teacher education models. Sixteen fourth-year pre-service teachers participated in the study after completing their four-week teaching practicum. Data were collected through surveys and interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data supplemented the statistical findings. Results indicate that opportunities for analyzing and understanding the national English curriculum and implementing competency-based education were perceived as limited. Regarding generative AI, the majority use AI services like ChatGPT to support lesson planning and material development, reporting high satisfaction due to immediate feedback and creative suggestions. This study underscores the necessity of enhancing practicum guidance for competency-based curriculum implementation and integrating structured AI training to effectively prepare pre-service teachers for future educational environments.
