한국어와 중국어의 화제·초점 문법 범주의 비교 연구

A Comparative Study on the Grammatical Categories of Topic and Focus in Korean and Chinese

본 연구는 한국어와 중국어의 화제와 초점에 해당하는 문법 범주를 언어유형론적 관점에서 비교하고 이를 바탕으로 중국어권 한국어 학습자를 위한 효과적인 문법 교수 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 한국어와 중국어는 모두 담화 중심 언어로서 표면적으로 유사한 특성을 공유하지만 화제와 초점의 문법적 실현 방식 및 담화 기능 면에서는 분명한 차이를 보인다. 이러한 차이는 중국어 모어 화자가 한국어 문장을 구성할 때 반복적인 오류를 유발하는 주요 요인으로 작용한다. 본 연구에서는 두 언어의 화제·초점 범주에 대한 통사적·화용론적 특성을 유형론적으로 분석하고 실제 학습자 자료를 바탕으로 오류 양상을 체계적으로 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 학습자의 오류에 내재한 인지적·언어학적 원인을 찾아보고 의미 중심 및 기능 중심의 교수 전략을 제안하였다. 이 연구는 한국어와 중국어의 정보 구조에 대한 유형론적 이해를 심화시키는 동시에 중국어권 학습자에게 보다 효과적인 문법 교육 방안을 제시함으로써 외국어로서의 한국어 교육에 실질적인 기여를 하고자 한다.

This study conducts a comparative analysis of the grammatical categories of topic and focus in Korean and Chinese, with the aim of enhancing Korean language education for Chinese-speaking learners. Although both languages are discourse-prominent and share some surface similarities, they differ significantly in how topic and focus are expressed syntactically and pragmatically. These differences often result in grammatical errors when Chinese learners construct Korean sentences. By examining the typological characteristics of topic and focus in both languages and analyzing learner data, this study identifies recurrent error patterns and explores their cognitive and linguistic causes. Based on these findings, it proposes function- and meaning-oriented teaching strategies tailored to the needs of Chinese learners. This research contributes to the typological understanding of information structure and provides pedagogical insights for developing more effective grammar instruction in Korean as a foreign language.
