Journal of Sinological Studies(JSS) Vol.2 No.7.jpg

After the cold war, China embarked on the road of energy transition for environmental portection, energy security and public health. In the past four decades, the Chinese government has made the energy transition as a national political priority embodied in its national plans with vast supported policies and mechanisms. However, despite Chinese clean energy sectors have experienced great development , with scale and output ranking the first in the world , its energy mix is still dominated by the fossil energy. At this stage, China struggles between nuclear and renewable energy, along with deficiencies in supporting mechanisms as well as insufficient funding for the whole energy transition. To further decrease the carbon emission and fight climate change through energy transition, it is highly suggested that China should consolidate its political commitment for supporting renewable energy, simplifying the application process for renewable energy as well as attracting more private capitals to renewable energy industries.
