A Study on the 『錦囊經』 in Feng Shui

풍수란 장풍득수(藏風得水)의 줄임말로, 기와 바람, 물의 상호작용을 이해하고 응용하여 삶을 윤택하게 하려는 것이다. 풍수라는 용어는 靑烏經에 “음양이 부합하고 천지가 서로 통할 때 내기(內氣)는 안에서 생명의 싹을 틔우고, 외기(外氣)는 밖에서 형상을 이루었다. 안밖이 서로 의지하는 곳에서 풍수는 스스로 이루어진다.”고 하여 처음 사용한 것으로 알려져 있다. 葬經에 “생기는 바람을 타면 흩어지고 물을 만나면 멈추니, 기를 모아 흩어지지 않게 하여야 하고 기가 가다가도 멈추게 해야 하니 따라서 이를 풍수라고 하는 것이다.”라고 하여 풍수의 원리를 설명하고 있다. 풍수는 생기(生氣)를 얻는 것이다. 생기는 바람을 만나면 흩어지지만 물을 만나면 멈추기 때문에 바람을 간직할 수 있고(藏風) 물을 얻을 수 있는(得水)장소가 풍수적 명당으로 판단하게 된다.풍수지리는 상(相)에서 발전한 것이다. 풍수(風水)를 감여(堪輿), 지리(地理),지술(地術)이라고도 한다.

Feng Shui is an abbreviation of “Chang Feng De Shui” (長風得水), and is a way of understanding and applying the interaction between wind and water to enrich one's life. The term Feng Shui is found in 靑烏經 (靑烏經), which states, “When yin and yang are in harmony and heaven and earth are connected to each other, the inner qi (internal air) sprouts the seeds of life inside, and the outer air (external air) takes shape outside. Feng Shui is self-generated when the inside and outside rely on each other. The Zang Jing (葬經) explains the principles of Feng Shui as follows: ”Life energy scatters when it rides the wind and stops when it meets water. You must gather the energy to keep it from scattering, and even if the energy advances, it must stop, which is Feng Shui.“ Feng Shui is about obtaining life energy. When it meets the wind, it scatters, but when it meets water, it stops, so a place that can cherish the wind and obtain the treasures of Feng Shui is considered a Feng Shui-worthy place. Feng Shui is also called Kanyu, Geography, and Geology.
