This study analyzes the alignment between the 2015 Revised National English Curriculum achievement standards and the Nationwide English Listening Proficiency Test (NELPT) for secondary school students. Previous research has focused on teachers’ perceptions, with limited attention to its curricular alignment. The analysis focused on NELPTs for middle and high school students in 2023, the final year before the 2022 Revised Curriculum. A total of 240 items across six grade levels from 7th to 12th were analyzed by type, topic, and cognitive demands, and then mapped to relevant listening and speaking achievement standards. Findings reveal that while both middle and high school tests generally reflect the curriculum, differences exist in the depth and focus on standard representation across grade levels. This study provides valuable insights into the alignment of NELPT items with curriculum standards and offers guidance for the development of future assessments.
