이 글의 목표는 정치학의 ‘전략적 서사(strategic narrative)’에 서사학의 ‘서사 전략(narrative strategy)’ 개념을 적용하여, 정치 담론을 서사학의 관점으로 보다 풍부하게 읽으려는 시도에 해당한다. 서사라는 공통분모를 취하고 있지만, 서사를 바라보는 관점과 접근 방향이 완전히 다르기 때문에 상호보완적인 논의가 가능하다. 현대 서사학의 관점에서 모든 서사 담론은 수신자를 향하는 발화의 특성을 띄고 있으며, 구조화 단계에서 누가 누구에게 무엇을 어떻게 말할 것인지를 결정하여 이를 효과적으로 전달할 수 있는 의사소통전략을 취한다. 크게 ‘세계관(картина мира)’, ‘양식성(модальность)’, ‘에토스(этос)’의 카테고리로 구분하여 해당 담론의 서사 전략을 분석할 수 있다. 서사 전략 개념을 활용하여 분석하고자 하는 대상은 ｢InoSMI｣사이트다. 러시아의 샤프파워를 다룰 때 ｢RT(Russia Today)｣, ｢스푸트닉(Sputnik)｣과 같은 관영 매체와 자주 언급되는 언론 매체다. 「InoSMI｣사이트의 발행 언어와 타켓 독자층 등을 ‘세계관’, ‘양식성’, ‘에토스’ 범주로 분석하면 여타의 관영 매체 구별되는 의 서사 전략을 구사하고 있음을 알 수 있다.

This study seeks to advance the analysis of political discourse by incorporating the concept of narrative strategy from narratology into the strategic narrative framework commonly employed in political science. While both approaches share the term “narrative,” they diverge significantly in perspective and methodology, offering potential for fruitful interdisciplinary integration. From the standpoint of contemporary narratology, all narrative discourse is inherently communicative, oriented toward recipients, and shaped by strategies that determine who speaks, to whom, what is conveyed, and how it is structured for rhetorical effect. This study organizes such strategies into three core dimensions: worldview (картина мира), modality (модальность), and ethos (этос). The focal case of analysis is the InoSMI website, a Russian media platform frequently referenced alongside state-sponsored outlets like RT (Russia Today) and Sputnik in discussions of Russia’s sharp power. Through an examination of InoSMI’s publication languages, target audiences, and discursive features within the categories of worldview, modality, and ethos, this study identifies a distinctive narrative strategy that sets it apart from other forms of state-controlled media.
