This study aimed to investigate the usage patterns of aesthetic shops in China, focusing on women in their 20s, and analyze differences in service quality and hygiene conditions across various city tiers. A comprehensive survey was conducted to assess the demographic characteristics, usage behaviors, and satisfaction levels of young female consumers in first tier, second tier, third tier cities. The findings reveal that young women, particularly those who are unmarried and highly educated, constitute the primary customer base of aesthetic shops. These consumers prioritize product quality, pricing, hygiene standards, and the professionalism of service providers when selecting a shop. The most frequently sought services include hydration treatments, skin whitening, and deep cleansing. In particular, city tier differences significantly shape consumer experiences. Aesthetic shops in first tier cities tend to offer advanced equipment and personalized services while maintaining high hygiene standards, such as proper towel sterilization and efficient ventilation systems. In contrast, shops in second tier and third tier cities exhibit relatively lower service quality and hygiene conditions, which may negatively impact customer satisfaction and market competitiveness. The study results suggest that aesthetic shop owners in lower-tier cities should enhance technical service quality and implement stricter hygiene management practices to sustain growth and improve customer loyalty. Such improvements are crucial for meeting the increasing expectations of young female consumers and strengthening the overall reputation and performance of the aesthetic shop industry.
