This study aimed to explore the impact of academic self-concept on career decision-making self-efficacy and career maturity among college students majoring in beauty. A survey was conducted with beauty major students in Cheonan, Daegu, and Busan, and the key findings are as follows: First, academic self-concept was found to significantly influence career decision-making self-efficacy. Second, academic self-concept also had a meaningful impact on career maturity, emphasizing its importance in students’ overall career development. Third, career decision-making self-efficacy factors such as self-appraisal and career exploration were identified as important contributors to career maturity. The results further revealed that the two components of academic self-concept, academic achievement self-concept and academic ability self-concept, significantly affected various aspects of both career decision-making self-efficacy and career maturity. These findings demonstrate the value of fostering strong academic self-concept among beauty major students. Moreover, career decision-making self-efficacy was confirmed as a key predictor of career maturity. In conclusion, the development and application of programs targeted to enhance academic self-concept in beauty majors are strongly recommended. Such initiatives may improve students’ confidence in career decisions and support more structured and mature career development. Continued research in this field is encouraged to further support these efforts.
